Wrap-Around Childcare

Our new school-based wrap-around childcare offer is called Early Birds and Night Owls. Our clubs run on a term-time only basis when the main school is open to pupils. 

Early Birds club 7:30-9:00

Night Owls club 3:30-5:30 (6:00 by prior arrangement)

Our provision

Early Birds club

  • Children should be dropped-off at the main school reception. Children will be in the main hall for Early Birds.

  • Children will have access to a wide range of activities including, our fiction and non-fiction books, arts and crafts materials, board and card games as well as educational and role-play toys.

  • Children will be offered a continental-style breakfast with cereals, toast, fruit and cordial drinks.

  • Children will be taken to their classrooms at 8:55am.

Night Owls club

  • Children will make their own way to Night Owls from their classrooms at 3:30pm.

  • Children will have access to a wide range of activities including, our fiction and non-fiction books, arts and crafts materials, board and card games as well as educational and role-play toys.

  • Children will be offered a light snack which may include for example crumpets, scotch pancakes, toast, fruit and cordial drinks.

  • Children should be picked-up from the main school reception. Children will be in the Windmill Room for Night Owls.

Our terms and conditions

  • Parents/carers will need to complete a booking form to request a place for their child / children at Early Birds and/or Night Owls. There will be two separate forms – one for each club. Forms are available on request (see contact details below).

  • Places will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis and any late requests will be queued in the order received and allocated as and when places become available. However, places will be prioritised for parents/carers who have previously used the Outer School provision and/or the school’s current breakfast club provision. Priority will only apply for on-time requests.

  • Bookings will be made on a half-term by half-term basis (on the same terms as above). Forms will be issued at least four school weeks before the next half-term is due to start.

  • We appreciate that childcare provision may be needed on an ad hoc or emergency basis. In these circumstances please contact Mrs Hanson, the Business Manager, to discuss your requirements / situation.

  • The fee structure is as follows:

Early Birds club 7:30-9:00

Fee Rate 1 - 8:00-9:00 - £4.40

Fee Rate 2 - 7:30-9:00 - £6.60

 

Night Owls club 3:30-6:00

Fee Rate 1 - 3:30-4:30 - £4.40

Fee Rate 2 - 3:30-5:30 - £8.80

Fee Rate 3 - 3:30-6:00 - £11.00

 

  • Payment of fees for Early Birds and Night Owls will be made via ParentPay. If fees are to be paid via a childcare voucher scheme or the government’s tax-free childcare scheme please contact Mrs Hanson to discuss.

  • In line with standard practice once sessions are booked they are non-refundable if a session is cancelled within 24 hours or your child does not attend. If the school has to cancel a session then this will be refunded in full by a credit being applied.

  • Children will be signed in and out for each club. For safeguarding reasons it is vitally important that the school is informed if children are not attending a booked session.
